Gruyere & Chive Scones
Unpopular opinion: We love a savoury scone more than a sweet one. These gruyere and chive scones are the most satisfying combination ever.

INGREDIENTS
- 180g plain flour
- 1tbsp tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 42g unsalted butter (cold)
- 17g caster sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2tsp sweet paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1tsp garlic salt
- 50g gruyere cubes
- A handful of chives
- 60ml milk
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 200C.
- Sift flour and baking powder. Add butter and salt. Rub together until crumbly and sand like.
- Add sugar and mix. Add chives, gruyere, pepper, paprika and stir.
- Add milk and mustard and mix until just combined. Do not over mix.
- Roll out the dough until it’s thickness is 1.7cm. Cut out 8 scones using a round cutter and transfer onto baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush with milk or egg.
- Bake for 12 minutes at 200C until golden brown.
