How To Make Get Sky High Muffin Tops
Muffins are easy to make, but I’m sure we’ve all been there with flat muffins. We all want our muffins to be like those in the bakery window, with a muffin top and everything! So I’m sharing 4 tips for a better rise in muffins! Continue reading below to get sky-high muffins- they would never be flat again!
1. Start Baking At A Higher Temperature
- this allows a faster reaction rate in the leavening agent! i bake my muffins at 190C for 7 minutes and lowering to 170C.

Right: baked at 190C then lowered to 170C
2. Rest The Batter
- allow the gluten in your batter to relax so they stretch out a bit more with the reaction from the leavening agent
3. Instead of filling the cups 2/3 full, fill them all the way!
-So long as the batter is thick enough, it won’t become a leaky mess
4. Don’t leave out that pinch of salt
- salt strengthens the gluten structure, so your muffins won’t deflate
